Chapter 9: Ecosystem

What you need to learn in this chapter

In this chapter, we will be learning about communities and ecosystems. We will define species, population, community, habitat, niche, and ecosystem. We will also identify the biotic and abiotic components in an ecosystem. Next, we will study ecology and population. We will describe the factors that influence population distribution and analyze data to estimate the size of populations using techniques such as quadrat sampling and mark-recapture method. By the end of this chapter, we will have a better understanding of how different species interact within an ecosystem and how populations are affected by various factors.
