Chapter 2: Cell Biology and Cell Organisation
What you need to learn in this chapter
In this chapter, we will be learning about cell biology and cell organisation. We will start by studying the structure and function of cells. We will learn how to prepare microscope slides of animal and plant cells and identify their structures through a light microscope. Next, we will explore the living processes in unicellular organisms such as Amoeba and Paramecium. We will conceptualise these processes and deduce them through observations using a light microscope. Moving on, we will focus on the living processes of multicellular organisms. We will understand how specialised cell structures in these organisms have unique functions. We will also learn to identify specialised cells in multicellular organisms. Lastly, we will study the levels of organisation in multicellular organisms. We will learn to sequence these levels and identify cells, tissues, and organs in an organ system.
