What will you learn in this chapter
We will learn about how cells produce energy. We will able to understand why energy is necessary for metabolic processes and identify the main substrate used in energy production. We will also explore aerobic respiration, where we will learn how cells produce energy from glucose. We will be able to write a word equation for aerobic respiration in cells. Additionally, we will study fermentation and the factors that cause it to occur in cells. We will examine energy production from glucose during fermentation in various organisms such as human muscle cells, Lactobacillus, yeast, and plants like paddy.
