In this chapter, we will be learning about living things and non-living things.
We will compare and contrast them based on different characteristics such as breathing, needing food and water, moving, growing, and reproducing.
We will also learn how to arrange living things in sequence based on their sizes.
We will also learn about the basic needs of living things, which are food, water, and air. We will understand how humans, animals, and plants need these basic needs in different ways.
By the end of this chapter, we will have a better understanding of what makes something living or non-living and how living things survive and grow.
• Compare and contrast living things and non-living things based on the following characteristics: (i) breathe; (ii) need food and water; (iii) move; (iv) grow; and (v) reproduce
• Arrange in sequence the examples of living things based on their sizes
• State the basic needs of living things i.e. food, water and air
• Describe human, animals and plants need food, water and air in different ways
• Describe human and animals also need shelters
• Provide reasoning on the importance of food, water, air and shelter to human and animals
• Explain observations on characteristics and basic needs of living things using sketches, ICT, writing or verbally
