All living and non-living things are made up of matter
Matter is something that has mass, fills space and can be seen, touched or felt.
There are three states of matter that exist in our environment, namely:

Solid	Liquid	Gas
Has mass	Has mass	Has mass
Has fixed volume and fills the space	Has fixed volume and fills the space	Does not have a fixed volume but fills the space
Has a fixed shape	Has no fixed shape but takes the form of a container	Has no fixed shape but takes the form of a container
Cannot be compressed	Cannot be compressed	Can be compressed
