EXAMPLE 1:

Puan Mei wants to buy 3 washing machines and 2 refrigerators for her new restaurant. A washing machine cost RM 615.90 while a refrigerator cost RM 253.75. Puan Mei paid using 104 pieces of RM 50 notes. Calculate the balance that Puan Mei got.

SOLUTION:
Cost of washing machine = RM 615.90
Cost of refrigerator = RM 253.75

Cost of 3 washing machine = RM 615.90 x 3 = RM 1 847.70
Cost of 2 refrigerator = RM 253.75 x 2 = RM 507.50
Total cost : RM 1 847.70 + RM 507.50 = RM 2 355.20

Amount paid by Puan Mei: RM 50 × 104 = RM 5 200.00
Balance for Puan Mei: RM 5 200.00 - RM 2 355.20 = RM 2 844.80
