14.1  Yes/No Questions
 
  • There are questions that require answers in the form of ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

  • The tense of the answer must follow the tense used in the question.

  • Examples:

 

Is he the manager of the event?

Yes, he is. / No, he isn’t.

Are these bags yours?

Yes, they are. / No, they aren’t.

Does she drive?

Yes, she does. / No, she doesn’t.

Do they meet every weekend?

Yes, they do. / No, they don’t.

Was she late for the meeting?

Yes, she was. / No, she wasn’t.
