Chapter 3 : Reading Skills
What will you learn in this chapter
Students will engage in reading a wide variety of texts, including fiction and non-fiction, while developing their word attack skills. They will focus on identifying proverbs, phrasal verbs, and similes, which will help them better understand figurative language and expand their vocabulary.
Throughout the chapter, students will practice reading and demonstrating understanding by identifying main ideas, supporting details, cause and effect relationships, and drawing conclusions from texts. These activities will help them deepen their comprehension and critical thinking skills.
Additionally, students will refine their dictionary skills, learning how to identify and understand the meaning of words in context. This will further enhance their ability to read with confidence and independence.
By the end of this chapter, students will be able to read and comprehend a variety of texts with greater ease, using effective strategies to understand the content, identify key ideas, and analyze language features.
