1.  Makanan yang berbeza mengandungi jumlah tenaga yang berbeza. Apabila makanan terbakar, tenaga haba dibebaskan. Anda dikehendaki menjalankan satu eksperimen untuk mengenal pasti nilai tenaga dalam tiga jenis sampel makanan. Rajah 1 menunjukkan susunan radas eksperimen tersebut.
  Different foods has different amount of energy value. When the food is burning, heat energy is released. You are required to carry out an experiment to determine the energy value in three types of food.  Diagram 1 shows the setup of the experiment.

  Berdasarkan susun atur dalam Rajah 1, jalankan eskperimen berdasarkan langkah-langkah berikut:
  Based on the arrangement from Diagram 1, carry out an experiment based on the following steps:
   
 
1. Sukat 20 ml air suling menggunakan silinder penyukat dan masukkan ke dalam tabung didih.
  Measure 20 ml of distilled water using a measuring cylinder and pour it into a boiling tube.
   
2. Apitkan tabung didih kepada kaki retort dan masukkan termometer.
  Clamp the boiling tube to the retort stand and put in the thermometer.
   
3.  Tetapkan kedudukan termometer dengan menggunakan kapas.
  Fix the position of the thermometer using cotton wool.
   
4. Rekodkan suhu awal air suling dalam Jadual 1.
  Record the initial temperature of the distilled water In Table 1.
   
5. Cucukkan kacang gajus pada hujung jarum dan dirikan jarum menggunakan plastisin.
  Stick the cashew nut on the needle and hold the needle upright using plasticine.
   
6. Letakkan penghadang di sekeliling susunan radas.
  Place the barrier around the apparatus set-up.
   
7. Timbang sebiji kacang gajus dan rekodkan jisimnya.
  Weigh a cashew nut and record its mass.
   
8. Nyalakan kacang gajus menggunakan penunu Bunsen dan letakkan di bawah tabung didih.
  Light the cashew nut using a Bunsen burner and place it below the boiling tube.
   
9. Kacau air dalam tabung didih perlahan-lahan dan catatkan suhu tertinggi air suling selepas kacang gajus habis terbakar.
  Stir the water in the boiling tube slowly and record its highest temperature after the cashew nut has completely burned.
   
10. Gantikan air di dalam tabung didih.
  Replace the water in the boiling tube.
   
11. Ulang langkah 1 hingga 9 menggunakan roti kering dan ikan kering.
  Repeat steps 1 to 9 using dried bread and dried fish.
   
13. Rekodkan keputusan dalam Jadual 1.
  Record the results in Table 1.
