Vertebrate animals are animals that have backbones (vertebrae)
Examples of vertebrate animals are horses, birds, fish, snakes, frogs, turtles
Respiratory organs, reproductive modes, body cover and habitat are specific characteristics that can be used to classify animals.
Based on those characteristics, vertebrates can be classified into mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish.
