Symmetry and Chords

5.2  Symmetry and Chords

Features in a circle:

(a)   The diameter of a circle is the axis of symmetry of the circle.

(b)   A radius that is perpendicular to the chord bisects the chord.

(c)   Perpendicular bisectors of two chords meet at the centre of the circle.

(d)   Chords of the same length produce arcs of the same length.

(e)   Equal chords are equidistant from the centre of the circle.
