What will you learn in this chapter
The chapter will introduce essential writing mechanics such as punctuation, spelling, and organisation of information. Students will practice planning, drafting, and editing their work on familiar topics. High-frequency word spelling and sentence structuring will also be emphasised to ensure clarity and coherence in writing.
Additionally, students will explore key grammatical concepts, including adjectives, adverbs, articles, conjunctions, pronouns, and verbs. They will learn to construct different types of sentences, such as simple, complex, and declarative sentences. Understanding subject-verb agreement, possessive forms, and relative pronouns will further strengthen their writing proficiency.
By the end of this chapter, students will be able to write confidently with appropriate language, form, and style, while applying proofreading skills to refine their work.
