Chapter 4 : Writing Skills
What will you learn in this chapter
Students will practice summarizing the main points of a story, text, or plot and will be able to explain key details in a clear and organized manner. They will also develop skills to express and respond to a range of emotions and opinions, such as happiness, sadness, surprise, and interest, enriching their communication with emotional depth.
Through activities that require organizing, sequencing, and developing ideas within short texts, students will strengthen their writing abilities, ensuring that their work is both coherent and meaningful. Attention to detail will be emphasized, with a focus on punctuating written work and spelling with moderate accuracy.
Students will also learn the process of drafting and revising their writing. They will create plans or drafts of two paragraphs or more, and modify these appropriately, either independently or based on feedback. This practice will help students build confidence in their ability to revise and improve their written communication.
By the end of the chapter, students will be able to use formal and informal registers appropriately, depending on the target audience, in familiar situations. They will be equipped to communicate more effectively, both in written and spoken forms, and develop the necessary skills to express themselves clearly and thoughtfully.
