Nucleon number of chlorine
35
The number of electrons is the same with the number of protons
Because atoms are neutral
The proton number of an aluminium atom that has 13 protons
Proton number = number of protons = 13
Nucleon number of an aluminium atom that has 13 protons and 14 neutrons
Nucleon number = proton number + number of neutrons = 13 + 14 = 27
Number of electrons of potassium atom that has 19 protons
Number of electrons = number of protons = 19
Number of neutrons in a potassium atom that have 39 nucleon number and 19 protons
Number of neutrons = nucleon number – number of protons = 39 – 19 = 20
Standard representation of an atom
Electron arrangement in shell of atomic structure (1)
Electrons of an atom orbit around the nucleus in their respective shells
Electron arrangement in shell of atomic structure (2)
Electrons will fill the shell closest to the nucleus first
Electron arrangement in shell of atomic structure (3)
