Sinoatrial node (Pace maker)
Located in the wall of the right atrium, the main pacemaker and also known as the sinoatrial node (SA node).
Atrioventricular node
Cardiac cell fibers between the right atrium and the right ventricle.
Bundle of His
Transmits electrical impulses from the atrioventricular node to the Purkinje fibres all the way to the apex of the heart.
Purkinje Fibres
Located in the inner ventricular walls of the heart, specialized conducting fibres transmit electrical impulses to the apex of the heart.
Cardiac muscle
The heart is made up of intersecting cardiac muscles and connected to each other.
Myogenic
Cardiac muscle is myogenic, meaning the heart contracts and relaxes without having to receive impulse signals from the nervous system.
The sound of the heart valves closing
Lub-Dub sound
The first sound of 'lub'
Noise is produced when the tricuspid valve and the bicuspid valve are closed.
The second 'dub' sound
A sound is produced when the sickle valve is closed
Pacemaker
A group of specialized heart muscle cells start the heart contraction rate and is located in the right atrium wall.
