Lymphatic system

The lost fluid is collected and returned to the blood through the lymph capillaries.

Tissue fluid

Blood plasma that fills the space between cells and constantly moistens the cells

Lymph

A pale yellow fluid.

Lymph and blood differences

Lymph does not contain plasma proteins, erythrocytes and platelets.

Similarity of lymph to tissue fluid

Both contain plasma without plasma proteins, erythrocytes and platelets.

Similarity of lymph to blood

Both contain all the contents of plasma such as nutrients, hormones, enzymes, substances cell waste, respiratory gases and leukocytes.

Lymph and tissue fluid differences

The content of fat, fat-soluble substances and lymphocytes is higher than that of tissue fluid.

Necessities of lymphatic system

Body defenses, transport of fat -soluble substances and supplements to the circulatory system.

Lymphatic capillary wall

consists of one layer of cells only.
