The production process of reproductive cells (gametes)

The process takes place in the gonads, the testes for men and the ovaries for women

Produces gametes that are haploid (n).

The process after fertilization

The sperm nucleus will fuse with the ovum nucleus in the fallopian tube and form a diploid zygote (2n)

Process of sperm production that takes place in the seminiferous tubules

Seminiferous tubule

Each seminiferous tubule is composed of primordial germ cells

Gametogenesis is divided into two

Spermatogenesis in sperm production and oogenesis in ovum production

Oogenesis

Occurs in the ovaries of females

Seminiferous tubule

A place for sperm formation or spermatogenesis takes place

Primordial germ cell

Cells in the seminiferous tubule that will undergo cell division to produce sperm
