Blood group type
A,B,AB, and O
Donation and receipt of blood
Must be based on the suitability of the donor and recipient blood groups.
Blood reception
The recipient has antibodies in the blood serum that can act against the antigen on the red blood cells of the donor.
Blood transfusion
From a donor to a recipient must take into consideration the blood group type of the donor and the recipient.
The effect when the blood of both the donor and the recipient does not match
The red blood cells of the recipient will experience agglutination (coagulation).

Antigen A and antigen B
Blood group A
Can donate to blood groups A and AB only.
Blood group B
Can receive blood from groups B and O only.

Can receive blood from blood group O only.
