Hello, Siti! How are you? I hope that you are in the pink of health. As requested, today I am going to share my knowledge about sea pollution.
Man tends to treat the seas like a giant garbage dump, dumping a large amount of waste. The waste includes domestic waste and commercial waste such as acids, poisonous metals, and oil waste. The daily flow of materials into the sea also includes plastic items. They flow into the sea through rivers, drains, and outflow pipes.
Most sea pollution occurs near the coast where many species live and take in plankton from the shallow waters. The polluted plankton is taken in by the small fish, passed on to larger fish, and eventually to humans.
As a result of sea pollution, there are smaller catches of fish because the fish are either killed by the pollutants or have decreased in breeding. Research has shown seabirds are unable to breed, whales are poisoned and seals suffer from a new disease. Plastics have killed sea creatures like turtles by trapping them. Humans become sick from deadly infections through drinking water from polluted seas.
Therefore, man should help to reduce sea pollution. We can begin by not throwing rubbish into streams, rivers, and seas. Dispose of all plastic household waste by reusing and recycling recyclable items. Use safer household cleaning products and join conservation groups.
I think that's all for now. I need to help my mum and will get back to you as soon as possible. Goodbye!
