Little/very little : means that there is not enough of something.
Example: I have little time left (there is not enough time)
A little: means that there is not a lot of something, but there is still enough.
Example: I have a little time to spare (not enough time but still has some)
Few/very few: means that there is not enough of something.
Example: There are very few people left (there not enough people)
A few: means that there is not a lot of something, but there is enough
Example: I have a few of the things you need (not enough, but still has some)
